For a broadside disposition anti-aircraft gun system, the transverse distance between the left- and right-tubes is quite considerable. To reduce the total fire dispersion of the system, the right- and left- tubes should not be placed parallel. Their shooting lines should intersect at a certain point. The question is how to determine the optimal intersection point. Besides, when the broadside disposition anti-aircraft gun system is trying out, the transverse distance between the two tubes will seriously affect the total density of the multi-tube gun. Thus it would be inappropriate to test the vertical target fire effect following the traditional routine. In this paper, the expression for calculating the optimal fire intersection point is given. It is proved that statistically the vertical target fire effect of the broadside gun system has a noncentral chi-square distribution under some conditions. A test method for the fire effect is given.
