In order to study the effects of ultra short steel fiber reinforced concrete on ballistic impact, three finds of concrete targets with different steel fiber volume fraction (0,3% and 6%) were impacted by hemispherical ended projectile. Both the impact velocity and the residual velocity were measured, and the failure form were observed and recorded. The experiment results show that the velocity of the ballistic reduces with the increase of volume content of steel fiber. The targets consumed much energy, and the targets destroyed less. The results clearly show that the ultra short steel fiber has obvious strengthen effect for concrete target to resist the penetration and perforation of projectile, and such anti penetration ability increases with the increase of fiber fraction.
