Abstract

The influences of towline on dynamic stability of vehicles were calculated and analyzed by using the simplified longitudinal small disturbance equation of towing system. The above analysis method and computing results were validated by simulation using the longitudinal small disturbance equation set of the towing system which was not simplified. The results show that the mode characteristics of short period mode of the vehicles in the towing system become worse, and the half life is prolonged. The mode property of long period mode can be changed from periodic mode to nonperiodic mode or even divergent mode.
