At present, laser theodolites can only measure static objects, and not measure moving ob?jects. But in fact it is often applied to measuring moving objects. A new method was proposed by CCD laser theodolite and image processing software to implement a laser theodolite with automatic tracking function, and the laser theodolite was used directly to adjust the ship-carried radar. The structure and the value of automatic tracking objects CCD laser theodolite were given, the procedure of sampling, recognizing and tracking of the targets, and the procedure of data post-processing were described in de?tail. A group of experience data was analyzed, the analyzed result proves that the method is satisfied with the measure precision.
