Tracked vehicles play an important role in the military field. Due to the complicatedness of tracked vehicle and its environments of application, traditional methods of research result in high cost and long cycles of development. Modeling and simulation have become a trend in the fields of research of tracked vehicles. They have greatly pushed forward the development of tracked vehicles. Stage achievements are re?viewed and summarized in terms of riding models, pressure distribution, mobility and other models, steer?ability models etc. in this paper. Some popular softwares used in the dynamic simulation of tracked vehicles are introduced. Also directions of research in this field in the future are pointed out.
