Abstract

The basic phenomenon in anti-piercing, rod deformation and fracture, rod gesture change, penetration speed and its loss by reactive armor are discussed for a long-rod armor-piercing projectile impinging upon a reactive armor under firing conditions. Also discussed is the criterion of initation for the reactive armor by projectile-impact shock as something closely related with the speed and diameter of projectile. This can provide some reference for the design of long-rod armor-piercing projectiles.
