Abstract

Dynamic properties of the medium carbon steel 45 are obtained over a range of shear strains 0.78-1.48,shear strain rates 4 .2 X 103 — 1.95 X 105S-1 and temperatures 137一322°C， from orthogonal cutting tests. By means of the nonlinear regression analysis for a mathematical model，the quantitative dynamic plastic constitutive equation of the steel is given.
